JIMI HENDRIX Memorabilia Lands Big Bids At London Auction
June 16, 2004Copyrights of 18 artworks by legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix sold for £41,200 (approximately $75,000) at an auction of rock 'n' roll memorabilia in London, according to Ananova. The artwork itself was sold last year. A first-generation Hendrix recording of "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" was estimated at between £20,000 and £30,000 and sold for £20,000 (approximately $37,000). The studio tape, still in its original box, included one complete version, featuring the lead guitar at a higher level than that of the other tracks, differing from the release version.
